THE DIVINITY OF JESUS IN THE GOSPEL OF MARK

  1. The passage in Mark 1:2-3 about the fulfillment by John the Baptist of the prophecy of Isaiah 40:4 regarding the “messenger who will be sent before the coming of the Lord God to prepare his way and make straight his path.” The gospel of Mark, Matthew (3:1-3) and Luke (3:4-6) provide the close association between the voice crying in the desert the Lord God whose path he prepares. That voice is John the Baptist while the Lord God is Jesus Christ.

This passage is overlooked by those who are providing verses to prove the divinity of Christ in the gospel narratives.
