  1. “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.” (John 6:56)

You are reading this in a physical sense only. Jesus taught in parables… We should read also with the Spirit… once we see things through a spiritual lense we can understand that in John 6:56 Jesus is saying to remin in Him and He in you, crave His word (that became flesh) and thirst His blood (that is life)

“For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭KJV

“I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭6:51‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭6:63‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭1:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:8-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    “It is finished”

The sacrament of the Eucharist is a physical representation and reminder to our flesh that the work was done for us, human effort accomplishes nothing.

I pray blessings for everyone who reads these words! Words of Spirit and life! Thank you Jesus for your perfect and complete sacrifice and thank you Father for your grace and mercy and the gift of repentance and thank you to our Advocate the Holy Spirit who enables us to have relationship God!

“For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:12‬ ‭NLT

    Amen 🙌🏽💗

    1. 6:63 is a contrast between the Spirit’s ability to enlighten our minds and human reason’s fleshly inability to
comprehend revealed truths. Jesus is not speaking of his own flesh here, but of those who think according to the “flesh”
and thus do not comprehend this great Eucharistic mystery. This clever play on words can be confusing, but is also helpful. I am relying on the ICSB
here. Thanks and a blessed New Year to you.
